Infertility is defined as failure to conceive within one or more years of regular unprotected sex.

Both male and female may be responsible.
Male’s Factors
Factors responsible in male for infertility are defective sperms formation, obstruction in channels carrying sperms, failure to deposit sperms high in female vagina and errors in the seminal fluids.
Male’s Evaluation
Evaluation of male needs physical examination, semen analysis and hormonal test.
Male’s Treatment
Treatment of male involves improvement of general health, avoiding certain medications, medication to treat specific causes, management by surgeries and assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
Female’s Factors
Factors responsible for female infertility are ovulation problems, fallopian tubes damage, uterus pathology and risk factors.
Female’s Evaluation
Evaluation of female needs physical examination, sonography, hormonal test, hystero /sonosalpingography and endoscopy.
Female’s Treatment
Treatment of female includes fertility restoration drugs, surgeries, assisted reproductive technologies (ART).
Assisted Reproductive Technologies
Intrauterine insemination (IUI).
Invitro fertilization (IVF).
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
IUI
IUI is a procedure in which a catheter is inserted through the cervix into the uterus to deposit sperms directly.
IVF
IVF is a process by which many eggs are stimulated by drugs, eggs are fertilized by sperms outside the body. Fertilized eggs are again put in the uterus.
ICSI
ICSI is the most successful form of treatment. It requires one sperm which is directly injected into the egg. Fertilized egg is then put into the uterus.
